Getting around Florida, honestly

Florida looks simple on a map and behaves differently on the ground. A cruise ship that is scheduled to clear at 8am can release its first passengers at 7:15 or at 10:30. A forty-minute drive from Miami Beach to the airport is forty minutes at 6am and ninety minutes at 5pm. Alligator Alley has no useful exits for seventy miles.
