Flying into Miami and sailing from Port Canaveral is common — the Miami fare is often much better, and Canaveral is a straightforward drive north. It is a long transfer, though, and worth treating as a proper leg of the journey rather than an afterthought.
We run it as one flat-rate trip: pickup at MIA or your Miami hotel, a rest stop on the way, and a drop straight at your terminal. No connecting flight, no shuttle change, no hire car to return.

How long is the drive from Miami to Port Canaveral?
Three and a half hours with clear roads; four and a half is realistic with a stop and any traffic around Orlando. We plan on the longer figure.
Should I fly to Orlando instead?
MCO is about forty-five minutes from Port Canaveral, so if the fares are close, flying to Orlando is easier. When Miami is significantly cheaper, the drive is comfortable and we quote it flat.
Is it cheaper than a rental car?
For one or two people, usually not. From four passengers up it is competitive, and there is no one-way drop fee, no fuel and no returning the car at the end of your cruise.
Can you do the return as well?
Yes — Port Canaveral back to Miami or to MCO. Booking both directions together is simpler and usually better priced.
