A lot of itineraries put the cheap flight into MIA and the ship at Port Everglades. It is a straightforward run — north on I-95, about twenty-five miles — but it crosses from Miami-Dade into Broward at exactly the hours everyone else is on the road.
Allow an hour. Off-peak it is closer to thirty-five minutes, but a weekday afternoon or a busy cruise Saturday can push it past an hour, and it is not a drive you want to be making with the clock running.

How long does MIA to Port Everglades take?
Budget an hour. Thirty-five minutes is achievable off-peak; rush hour and cruise Saturdays run longer. We set the pickup time so the buffer is already there.
Should I fly into FLL instead?
If the fares are similar, yes — FLL is two miles from Port Everglades and removes an hour of driving. If MIA is meaningfully cheaper, the transfer is easy enough that it is still worth it.
Can you stop on the way?
Yes — hotels, supermarkets and restaurants are all common. Mention it when you book so it is in the quoted price.
Do you do the return leg?
