What this transfer costs

This route is not on our published airport rate table, so we price it individually rather than quote you a number that does not fit the trip. Tell us the pickup address, the date and how many are travelling and you will have a flat price back the same day — and like every fare we quote, the price we give is the price you pay.

See our published rates for the routes we run most often, or ask for a price on this one.

This is the southbound half of the port-to-port run, and it is the more forgiving of the two. Port Everglades clears its passengers early — the terminals are compact and disembarkation is usually finished by mid-morning — while PortMiami boarding runs well into the afternoon. The day has slack in it that the northbound version does not.

What it still has is twenty-eight miles of I-95 and a great deal of luggage. Anyone stepping off a ship and onto another one is carrying the whole trip with them, which is why a rideshare quoted on headcount tends to arrive too small and leave someone standing on the kerb.

Where your driver meets you

At Port Everglades, in the ground transportation area for your terminal once you are through customs, with a name board. You will have his name and mobile number by text the night before. The port is compact and well signed, which makes this an easy meet compared with a large airport.

We track your ship’s real berthing time rather than the published one, so an early or late arrival is already accounted for and you are not paying for a vehicle to sit waiting.

Which terminal at PortMiami

We drop at the passenger drop-off for your assigned terminal, where porters take the checked bags. Carnival sails from Terminals D, E and F; Royal Caribbean from Terminal A, the crown-shaped building on the port island; Norwegian from Terminal B; and MSC from Terminal AA. Assignments do move between seasons, so we confirm yours against the booking rather than assuming.

If there are hours to fill

There often are on this direction. Rather than sit in a terminal, a stop on Las Olas, in Miami Beach or for lunch in Brickell uses the gap properly, and the luggage stays in the vehicle throughout. Tell us when you book and we build the time in.

Vehicles

Which vehicle for this run

As with the northbound direction, luggage decides this one rather than the headcount.

Tahoe or Escalade

2–5 passengers with cruise luggage. The realistic minimum. A sedan seats four but will not take four cruise cases.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

6–14 passengers. Families and small groups moving between sailings together.

Mini coach

15–25 passengers. Group bookings repositioning, with a luggage bay underneath.

Motorcoach

26–56 passengers. Full charters. Worth booking well ahead in high season.

Good to know

Questions about this route.

How long is the drive from Port Everglades to PortMiami?

About twenty-eight miles south on I-95, typically forty to seventy-five minutes. Southbound in the morning is the busier direction, so on a turnaround weekend plan for the upper end.

Will we make an afternoon boarding window in Miami?

Almost always, yes. Disembarkation at Port Everglades is generally finished by mid-morning and PortMiami boarding runs into the afternoon, which leaves a comfortable margin. We track your first ship’s actual arrival rather than the timetable.

Which PortMiami terminal will we be dropped at?

Whichever your ship uses. Carnival sails from Terminals D, E and F, Royal Caribbean from Terminal A, Norwegian from B and MSC from AA. Send us the booking and we confirm the terminal rather than guessing from last season.

Can we stop somewhere between the two ports?

Yes. A stop for lunch or a couple of hours in Miami Beach is a common request on this run, and the luggage stays in the vehicle. Mention it when you book so we allow for the time.

What does this dock to dock transfer cost?

Neither end is an airport, so it is not on our published airport rate table. We quote it individually as a flat price before you book.
