Two cruise ports, twenty-eight miles apart, and no sensible way to travel between them with luggage other than a private vehicle. PortMiami and Port Everglades sit at opposite ends of a stretch of I-95 that is unpredictable on a good day and genuinely slow on a cruise weekend, and the people making this trip are almost never travelling light.
Most of our bookings on this run are back-to-back cruisers: off one ship in Miami in the morning, onto another in Fort Lauderdale the same afternoon. The rest are passengers whose ship changed ports, groups repositioning to meet a different sailing, and crew transfers. What they have in common is that the day only works if the vehicle is already waiting.
How the timing actually works
Disembarkation at PortMiami runs from around seven in the morning and most passengers are off by ten. Boarding at Port Everglades generally opens late morning and runs through the afternoon. That leaves a workable gap on the same day — but it is a gap, not a cushion, and it disappears quickly if the first ship berths late.
We track the actual arrival of your first ship rather than the scheduled one, so a late berthing does not cost you the vehicle. Allow at least four hours between the scheduled arrival and your boarding window at the second port, and more on a Saturday in season.
Where your driver meets you
At PortMiami, in the terminal’s ground transportation area once you are through customs, with a name board. You will have his name and mobile number by text the night before. At Port Everglades we drop at the passenger drop-off for your assigned terminal, where porters take the checked bags.
If there are hours to spare between the two ships, we can keep the luggage in the vehicle while you spend the time in Fort Lauderdale rather than in a terminal waiting room.
Luggage is what decides the vehicle
This is the one route where we ask about bags before we ask about seats. A couple doing back-to-back sailings is carrying two or three weeks of luggage, not a weekend bag, and a vehicle sized on headcount alone will not close its doors. Give us the case count when you book.

How long does the port to port transfer take?
About twenty-eight miles up I-95, typically forty to seventy-five minutes. On a Saturday or Sunday when both ports are turning ships around at once, budget the upper end rather than the average.
I have back-to-back cruises from different ports. Can you handle the luggage?
Yes, and this is the most common reason people book this run. You come off one ship with everything you own and go straight onto another, so the vehicle has to fit the bags as well as the people. Tell us the luggage count when you book and we will size it properly.
How much time do I need between the two sailings?
Disembarkation at PortMiami usually finishes by mid-morning and boarding at Port Everglades opens around late morning, so a same-day turnaround is normal. Allow at least four hours between the ship’s scheduled arrival and your boarding window at the second port.
Can you hold our bags if there are hours to spare?
Yes. We can keep the luggage in the vehicle while you spend the gap on Las Olas or at the beach, then take you to the terminal afterwards. It is a far better use of the day than sitting in a cruise terminal.
