Terminal A — the Crown of Miami

Royal Caribbean at PortMiami

Royal Caribbean sails from Terminal A, the building locals call the Crown of Miami. A second terminal, G, is due to open in 2027.

Royal Caribbean's Terminal A opened in 2018 and is the distinctive crown-shaped building on the PortMiami island — it is the easiest terminal to point out from the causeway. A second Royal Caribbean terminal, Terminal G, is under construction and expected to open in 2027.

Terminal A handles some of the largest ships afloat, which means embarkation and disembarkation volumes here are as high as anywhere at the port. That is not a problem if your ride is already booked and waiting; it is very much a problem if you are joining the taxi line at nine on a Sunday morning.

Pickup and drop-off

Arriving: we drop at the terminal's passenger drop-off where porters collect checked luggage. Plan to arrive within your assigned boarding window rather than as early as possible — the queues are shortest in the middle of the window.

Departing: your driver meets you in the ground transportation area once you are through customs, with a name board and his number already texted to you. We monitor the ship's actual arrival, so you are not paying for a wait if it berths late.
