Fort Lauderdale is the easiest place in Florida to start a cruise, and the reason is geography: Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International sit about two miles apart. A flight landing at eleven for a three o’clock boarding is comfortable here in a way it simply is not anywhere else in the state.

That convenience is also why the area gets busy. Between December and April the beach hotels, the port and the airport all run at capacity at the same time, and SE 17th Street — the one road connecting all three — is where every journey converges. The distance never changes; the time it takes does.

What a Fort Lauderdale cruise shuttle costs

These are the published fares from the airport. Up to four passengers the rate is flat for the vehicle — four people pay what one pays. From five passengers up we move to a larger vehicle and the price is per person. The price we quote is the price you pay: no surge pricing, no meter and no surcharges at the end.

Hotel pickups are quoted separately. The table above covers trips that start or end at the airport. A run from a Fort Lauderdale hotel to the cruise terminal is not on it, so we price those individually rather than stretch a fare to fit — you still get a flat price before you book. Where we collect you

At the airport. Your driver meets you inside the terminal at baggage claim with a name board, and you will have his name and mobile number by text the night before. We track the flight, so a delay costs you nothing and there is no re-booking to do.

At your hotel. Beach, downtown, Las Olas and Harbor Beach properties are five to twenty minutes from the terminals. Most have a proper driveway, which means a Sprinter or a mini coach can pull in without any advance arrangement — unlike South Beach, where that is often impossible.

At the ship. Coming home, your driver waits in the terminal’s ground transportation area with a name board once you are through customs. We monitor the ship’s real berthing time rather than the timetable, so an early or late arrival is already handled.

Which cruise port are you actually sailing from?

Worth checking before you book anything. Plenty of people staying in Fort Lauderdale sail from PortMiami rather than Port Everglades, and the two runs are nothing alike: two miles against twenty-eight, fifteen minutes against an hour on I-95. Getting that wrong on embarkation morning is the single most expensive mistake in this business.

If you are sailing from Miami, budget an hour for the drive and leave accordingly. If you are sailing from Port Everglades, the drive is trivial and the only real variable is SE 17th Street.

Groups and charters

Family sailings, wedding parties and corporate groups are a large share of what we run out of Broward. Up to fourteen passengers travels in a single Mercedes-Benz Sprinter; beyond that we bring in a mini coach or a motorcoach, up to fifty-six in one vehicle and more in convoy. In high season those want booking two to three weeks ahead — the vehicles are finite and every ship turns around on the same mornings.
