What the shuttle costs from FLL

The published fare for the airport run. Up to four passengers the rate is flat for the vehicle — four people pay what one pays. From five passengers up we use a larger vehicle and the price is per person. The price we quote is the price you pay: no surge pricing, no meter and no surcharges at the end.

Port Everglades sits in Fort Lauderdale, immediately south of the city and directly adjacent to Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International. That proximity is its defining feature and the reason experienced cruisers choose to sail from here: the transfer between airport and ship is around two miles, and five to fifteen minutes.

It is worth being clear about what that does and does not buy you. It means a flight landing at eleven for a three o’clock boarding is comfortable rather than a gamble — something no other Florida cruise port can offer. It does not mean the roads are empty. SE 17th Street, the single road connecting the airport, the beach hotels and the terminals, is where every one of those journeys converges, and on a Saturday in season it is the whole story of your journey time.

The eight cruise terminals

Port Everglades operates eight cruise terminals: 2, 4, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 and 29. They sit around the harbour rather than in a single row, so the difference between two of them can be a genuine drive rather than a short walk.

We do not guess which one your ship uses. Terminal assignments move between cruise lines and between seasons, and the port does not publish a fixed line-to-terminal map. Sending a driver to the terminal a line used last winter is exactly how people end up dragging luggage across a working port. Pickup and drop-off

Arriving for your cruise: we drop at your terminal’s passenger drop-off, where porters take the checked bags. That is as close as any vehicle gets — the same for a taxi, a rideshare or a private car. Aim to arrive inside your assigned boarding window rather than as early as possible; the queues are shortest in the middle of it.

Coming home: your driver waits in the terminal’s ground transportation area with a name board once you are through customs, and you will have his name and mobile number by text the night before. We track the ship’s real berthing time rather than the scheduled one, so an early or late arrival is already handled and you are not paying for a vehicle to sit waiting.

Coming from somewhere other than the airport

Most of what we run into Port Everglades is not the two-mile airport hop. Fort Lauderdale beach and downtown hotels are five to twenty minutes out. Hollywood is fifteen to thirty. Aventura and the north Miami-Dade condo towers are twenty to forty. From Miami itself — MIA or PortMiami — allow an hour, and more on a turnaround weekend.

If you are sailing from Port Everglades but flying into Miami, that hour on I-95 is the part of the day worth planning properly. It is also the run people most often underestimate.
